The Community Apple Orchard
Our 2018 season is beginning! We have ONE more volunteer opportunity before the harvest begins! Join us Saturday, August 18 to help clean up the orchard!
Harvest begins Saturday August 25! We will be open 9:00 am- 2:00 pm.
We now have a cider press! It will only be available on Saturdays and may shut down half an hour before we close for cleaning purposes. There is no cost to use the press - once you pick your apples and pay for them, you can make your own cider with our hand-crank cider press! Fun for the whole family! Please bring your own containers, although a few empty gallon jugs may be available. **
Located in beautiful Winona Lake, Indiana, The Community Apple Orchard is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring a neglected apple orchard as a community project. Prior to 2010, the apple orchard at the corner of Pierceton and Packerton Roads was abandoned. The Orchard Restoration Project was started in 2010 when Community Apple Orchard Corporation arranged a loan with Grace College to fund the clean up and reestablishment of this great community resource. Since that time, The Orchard has harvested over 40,000 pounds of apples, many of which have been donated to local food banks.
We have a passion to restore this orchard, and to see it used to its full capacity. But it isn't just our orchard - it belongs to the community! This is your orchard as well as ours! Help us make it productive again! As a non-profit organization, The Orchard relies on the support and contributions of volunteers. Please consider coming out to volunteer with us on Saturdays to clean up the orchard, or make a monetary donation by "adopting" an apple tree!
